    Zyxel (Modems/Gateways): UPnP
    Login Information



    • Gateway: 192.168.1.1
    • Username: admin
    • Password: 1234






    UPnP

    1. Open a web browser on a computer.
    2. Type the gateway address: 192.168.1.1 into the web address bar, select
      apply.
    3. This will take you to a login page, type admin for the username and type
      1234 for the password.
    4. Select Advanced on the main page.
    5. On the “General” tab check the Activate Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) feature.
    6. Select Apply once you have finished to save changes.

    UPnP

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway, 192.168.1.1 into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. The router will then prompt you to enter the username and password. The default username is admin and the default password is 1234.
    4. Expand the Management directory.
    5. Select UPnP from the submenu.
    6. Toggle both boxes on or off depending on the need of the situation
    7. Click the Apply button.
    8. Restart/Power cycle the device.

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.0.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. Click on Advanced Setup from the menu at the top.
    4. Check or uncheck the option for UPnP.
    5. Click Apply.

    Double NAT problems (I Think)

    Yes, the Zyxel is a gateway (modem+router), and you have problematic double NAT as a result. If you have access to the right settings, you can put the Zyxel in bridge mode as explained on page 22 of the manual here:

    This is the best solution, but your ISP may block those settings. If it does, and if it is unwilling to set it to bridge mode for you, another option is to disable DHCP on the Belkin and connect the Zyxel to a LAN port on the Belkin rather than WAN. Reboot
    Zyxel, Belkin, Xbox, and Xbox should get an IP from the Zyxel via DHCP (reserve this IP if the Zyxel supports that). You will then need to do all necessary port forwarding to the Xbox using the Zyxel unless the Zyxel properly implements UPnP (in which case
    enable that).

    Impossible to get OPEN NAT?!

    That didnt help much :( Lost my entire internet when i switch ZyXel into Bridge Mode, hard reset and its working again. Of course Routing and not bridge mode. I got this other router 3 weeks ago, before that when i was only using ZyXel i still had same problem.
    Open ports, DMZ enabled, UPnP enabled but still Moderate on my xbox. Some lucky hours i have Open but 99% of the time its Moderate. Im connected with a cable from Zyxel Ethernet to WAN port on ASUS

    can connect to the internet but can't to xbox live

    Well other modems are just fine and this is never needed but in case of the ZyXel it does. Login in on the router to edit stuff, is working on port 80. By time he want to use the uPnP, port 80 stands in the way because that one again is used for the router.
    By bypassing that to port 8080 you can reach the interface trough that port number and not standing in the way for the use of uPnP.
