YouTube on Xbox not showing thumbnail previews

The YouTube app on my Xbox has stopped showing thumbnail previews in the last couple of days. No settings were changed (so far as I can see, haven't physically changed any, double checked app settings on both phone and console anyway).

The weird thing is it's only stopped showing them when I'm signed in to the YouTube app. If I logout or switch to the guest account then the previews play with no issue. Also they still work when signed in on the phone app, it's only the Xbox app that is affected.

Had been working fine previously (broke my fibia three weeks ago so have been watching a fair bit of YouTube while resting up lol).

Have tried reinstalling the app and fully power cycling the console with no luck either. Around 60gb of free space on the 500gb drive so shouldn't be any memory issues. Internet speed doesn't seem to be having any issues either (500Mbps).

Can't work out why it's suddenly stopped playing them as I've not changed any settings. Even more so with them playing fine on guest mode or when signed out.

It's possible that it's being affected by your network configuration. If possible, try to connect with a different network like your mobile data hotspot.

Please also try to change your console's DNS.

Press the Menu button on your controller and choose Settings. Select Network > Advanced settings.

Select DNS settings. Choose Manual.
Now enter 8.8.8.8 as Primary DNS and 8.8.4.4 as Secondary DNS.

If you want, you can use OpenDNS by using 208.67.222.222 as Primary DNS and 208.67.220.220 as Secondary DNS.

After entering the DNS server addresses, press the B button on your controller to save changes. If everything is in order you’ll see It’s all good message.

After switching to Google DNS or OpenDNS check if the problem is resolved.

I have not seen this yet. I personally do not have this problem. Have you tried clearing Edge?

We do apologize for the inconvenience, I know I've been experiencing this myself and it could be a bit frustrating. We hope that this is resolved soon and an update is put out so that we can see our thumbnails already.

Thanks for replying. Guess i'll have to use the awful app for now then. The menu tab icons have vanished now too. The video timer bar won't go away like it normally does, just stays on screen. It's all over the place.

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for clarity on this inconvenience. I understand how this could befuddle anyone. It could be that the newest version of Youtube's site might be utilizing some kind of plugin that is not compatible with the current version
of Microsoft Edge.

For the mean time I would suggest using the YouTube app instead.
