    YouTube casting from phone not working


    I've owned my Xbox one x a few years and have always had issues casting YouTube from my phone whether as a "watch from tv" or through WiFi. Doing through the Wifi has broken a long time ago. Watch from TV works sometimes. Sometimes I need to start the app
    first. Sometimes it completely stops working and I need to re-pair. After about 100 times of not working I have finally given up. I'm not going to re-pair again. Please let me know this issue is receiving attention right now. Otherwise I'm ready to purchase
    a Chromecast, like tomorrow...

    Xbox One is using insane amounts of data!?

    Are you streaming/casting media from a pc or phone to your Xbox? The Xbox does not differentiate between network traffic and actual internet use.

    people will start playing videos on xbox youtube while im playing games. Anyone signed into my wifi can just start playing videos from apps like netflix or youtube from their phones to my Xbox. It’s ridiculous how they dont need any authorization or permission
    from the xbox to just take control and start playing videos or movies its pretty stupid. You guys need to make a setting in which the xbox and the phone need to pair before you can just automatically start playing videos because we are sharing the same wifi
    network. Or a setting to turn off that casting feature

    Hi Aut!

    I believe that was only a video casting from YouTube. If your phone and your console share the same network, the option for casting video will be available to your YouTube app on bigger screen like Xbox.

    You can try it now. Simply watch any video from YouTube on your mobile and there's a cast icon (looks like a screen with wireless signal) you can click and choose the device that appears there which should be your Xbox console. Just make sure your YouTube app on your Xbox is opened.

    Xbox has it's own YouTube app. ? So you dont have to cast from phone to xbox ? If that's what your trying to do . 👍

    All you do with the app and phone is link it via code when you first go on it .the code should show up on your phone .

    Youtube no longer opens.

    Same issue here. Possible problem with YouTube rolling out the Red membership? I'm a YouTube Red member by default of being a Google Play Music subscriber. But the app no longer opens for me on the Xbox. Even if I restart the entire console, it's still
    just 20 seconds of the red YouTube sceen, then it kicks back out to the dashboard.

    Tried opening a video on my phone and casting it to the Xbox. Doesn't work either.
