YouTube App won’t play after May 2021 update

With app issues like these, I highly recommend that you try clearing your local saves (cloud saves will remain so no worries so long as you're connected to the internet) and then uninstall the app, restart the console and then re-download the app.

To clear local saves:

Go to Settings > System > Storage > Clear local saved games.

If the issue persists, select Learn more for other solutions.

is a YouTube setting, it may be possible to disable it in the app settings if it is not possible only in another update

I have two XBOXs, both have the same problem...hard locks randomly while using the youtube app.

The problem started right after the latest version of the youtube app came out. The lockup did not start ultil the youtube update and does not occur when not using youtube.

For me this issue is stopped after uninstalling youtube completely shutting off the console pulling the power for a bit and restarting. It only occurs when youtube is reinstalled. XB support advises it's an issue with YouTube and can only be resolved with
a future YouTube app update. For the time being I am removing the app from the Xbox One.

1. Start the Download

2. Enter the Youtube APP (or any app that may pause the download)

3. After you entered Youtube App, there should appear "-your game stopped downloading" Notification

4. After the notification disappears, Press the Guide Button, Select Active Downloads, Then select your download and change the download location. WORKED FOR ME.
