Youtube and Xbox One Smartglass won't work together

    Youtube and Xbox One Smartglass won't work together


    This might just be me but the Xbox One smartglass app on my iPad mini stops working once i launch the Youtube app. It works perfectly if i'm outside the youtube app. once i launch the Youtube app, Smartglass just stops working for some odd reason. it doesn't
    respond to my swipes or press any of the buttons on Smartglass.

    Also, it would be better if the Youtube app would allow the smartglass keyboard to type in my search. I find the youtube keyboard to be pretty tedious to use since i have to peck each letter one at a time with my controller. This really should be implemented
    across all the Xbox One apps that allows for text input.

    Smart Glass So Far.

    Are you sure you have the Xbox One version of Smartglass? The old Smartglass app for 360 won't work.

    Xbox one smartglass youtube conflicts?

    I love using my universal remote and smartglass with my xbox one but neither will work with the youtube app. The only way I can select anything in youtube is with the xbox one controller. Any suggestions with how to fix this problem?

    Are you sure you have the Xbox One version of Smartglass? The old Smartglass app for 360 won't work.

    YouTube App disables IR Remote commands

    The remote works fine with all other apps on Xbox One. It navigates all other Xbox Functionality without any issues. Microsoft's own Smartglass will not control YouTube either.

    What device are you using SmartGlass on?

    If you're on Android or iOS (don't know about win devices), have you tried pairing the YouTube app on your Phone/Tablet with the X1 YouTube app? It's my preferred way of interacting with the Xbox ONE (or 360) YouTube apps.

    I think SmartGlass with the X1 YT app is limited, but it should just work. Though I can't remember if I've tried SG with YT yet.

    Saving a paired connection with youtube on Xbox One

    Sorry @caseofbase, the pairing done between the YouTube app on your Android tablet and the Xbox One is a function implemented by google/youtube itself. You will need to contact their support to see if they have this ability.

    Xbox One SmartGlass is a separate app that can be paired with your Xbox One console for various control, input, social, and 2nd screen companion experiences (and it will remember your pairing :), but unfortunately it does not function that well specifically
    with controlling the YouTube app at this time (YouTube is working on a fix for that).
