  1. Your TV signal was lost - Cable Box DUI/DVI Error :'(

I have a simple setup. Motorola Cable box connected to Xbox via HDMI. Then Xbox to Tv via another HDMI, all in the correct ins and out ports. And in my Xbox settings I have just about everything "synced" up, except for the HDMI setup. For some reason the
xbox cannot find the "tv" or the cable box's video from the HDMI.. but it shows the TV listings(upcoming shows/what is on) just fine! I've swapped my two HDMI cables between Tv/Xbox and Xbox/CableBox but still no luck! I'm fairly certain they are good HDMI
cables since they work between devices but no luck on the cable box end. I've even gone as far as to exchange the cable box for another but still have this problem! Problem being whenever I open up the OneGuide it brings me to a screen that says "Your TV signal
    was lost".

Also to note that on the Motorola Cable Box, whenever you try to open OneGuide or anything similar the cable box reads "DUI" or it might be "DVI". I cannot tell.

I am not in knowledge of the exact model of the Motorola Cable Box but I can go through the efforts to find out if someone does the same in helping my situation.

I've had this problem for some time, and am about to throw in the towel for good, unfortunately.

Thank you sincerely for reading this!

    :)

After one day of having the xbox one hooked up to get the cable box hdmi signal from my Yamaha RX-V665 receiver, the cable box seemed to be overheating (presumably from Xbox pulling video constantly / polling the tv guide). The issues seen are the xbox displays
"We lost your TV signal, make sure your cable or satellite box is on and plugged in to the xbox" randomly while watching TV, at which time the display on the cable box shows "DUI (download user interface) as if it has just been restarted. Tested using through
receiver and directly connected to cable box with the same results, TV freezes and signal is lost often within moments randomly. Immediately after having the issue I can hook the cable box up directly to the TV at which time the TV signal works flawlessly.
Therefore the issue has to do with how the xbox one is utilizing the HDMI signal to and from the cable box. The cable box has never exhibited these issues before and doesn't have them when not connected to the xbox.

  3. Xbox One Black Screen Live TV Issue and Live Support is Terrible.

    Hi XboxMB Wesley,

I have the same Motorola cable box with Comcast cable. When I connect everything, the cable box displays "duI" (which i figured is actually "DVI"). I can't watch TV at all through the Xbox One.

Did you have the same problem? If so, how exactly do I get a cable box firmware update?

THANKS SO MUCH! Happy New Year!

My cable box doesn't output HDMI, but would a converter to HDMI allow for tv on Xbox One?

Well, there are HDMI-to-DVI converters, which would then allow you to run your HDMI cable from X1 into the converter, DVI from the converter to Cable Box, then Cable Box to TV. A couple of caveats with that, though - when converting HDMI to DVI, you no longer
have audio in the signal, so you need to make sure to get a converter that has a separate audio port to run to your audio-in port.

Second, HDMI has codecs which allow for playing of DRM-protected media (such as Blu-Rays and certain other content.) What that means is, if you try to play a Blu Ray on your Xbox One, it won't display on your television, because a DVI converter doesn't have
the same codecs to allow for the copy-protected material to play.

I'm sure you could find an HDMI-to-Component converter, but the quality would be much less, with the same qualifiers.

This may be a dumb/obvious question, but, did you make sure your cable box has a DVI or Component INPUT (i.e. passthrough.) A lot of old boxes that don't have HDMI out don't have ANY kind of input to be able to pass a signal through from other devices.

The REAL suggestion I have, which I don't know if it's an option for you, but, if your TV has HDMI inputs, I would suggest checking with your cable company to upgrade your box (they should do so at no charge, if you tell them the box is incompatible with
your other entertainment devices which require HDMI.) Almost all cable boxes nowadays have HDMI output and HDMI passthrough for other devices, and the quality is outstanding, so it'd really be worth your while to check into getting a better box.

    Hope this helps!

    HDMI passthrough freezes (dropouts?)

I keep having issues with the freezing, but I also keep getting the "we've lost your TV signal, please make sure your cable or satellite box is on and plugged in to xbox one" (or something to that effect), then my picture will come back frozen, then work
for about a minute, then freeze, and on & on. I am sooooo frustrated! Just wondering if you also got the lost tv signal message as well? I have HDMI splitter, but it's not powered. It's just a little box that does 3 into 1. Not sure if I can do anything with
it. My cable box is a Motorola from Cox Cable, DVR, HD btw

Xbox One shows blue screen on live tv (cisco 4742hdc box)

I just started having this same issue. It had been working properly for one year. But suddenly the TV signal from my Comcast cable box began to cut in and out, and eventually just displays a blue screen (though someitmes it flashes to "Your TV signal
was lost" then flashes back to blue).

At first I thought it was my cable box, so I replaced that. Then I replaced the HDMI cable.

Everything else on the XBOX works fine. And if I connect my cable box direct to my TV, it works fine. So it must be with the XBOX One itself.

    ...and my warranty expired. Great.
