My first time doing this and I'm hoping many in the community can look at this discussion objectively and appreciate this post.

TL;DR: This showcase was essentially the "Future of Game Pass" showcase. The fact that all of the games shown will be available on the day of their release is incredible when you factor what
the games are and how much money you are overall saving as a gamer thus making this a much more affordable hobby. Even if Halo Infinite didn't exactly deliver in the graphics department, many of the games including Halo have shown me that there is a strong
chance of Xbox becoming the ideal platform for gamers. From the looks of it, you will save a lot of money being an Xbox owner or a Game Pass subscriber in general than if you were to play games on any other platform. A big thank you to Phil Spencer and the
team over at Xbox for all the work you've done to make Xbox the true place to play!

The Post:

I have noticed online that many have had mixed feelings on today's Xbox showcase. Between Halo Infinite having worse overall graphics than Halo Reach (A 10-year-old game from the Xbox 360) and presenting freaking Tetris as a next gen title in a showcase
that arguably will make or break the Series X, it's understandable if you were underwhelmed from this showcase. However, I feel like many are missing the bigger picture here. In the words of Matt Booty from today's showcase:

"Today you saw 10 world premiers and 22 Console Launch exclusives. Gamepass members can play every game you have seen today..."

Let that sink in. We saw games like Halo Infinite, State of Decay 3, Forza, Avowed, Fable (my personal favorite) and so many other great first and third party games. From the looks of it, games next gen will stick to the 59.99 MSRP price model rather than
the rumored 69.99. If you were to buy each of the games I listed, which I listed five, you would normally pay a grand total of 299. For that price, you can go out and buy a Switch or even a used PS4 with a handful of games. Instead, Microsoft is being pro-consumer
by offering us all of the 22 games they showed for only $15 a month. That is an absolute steal, especially knowing that Game Pass already has 100+ titles and the best part is that you don't have to like Microsoft's first party games. If you hate Sea of Thieves
and would rather play Outer Worlds on game pass, help yourself. If you want Game Pass to try a game like Red Dead 2 before you buy it and then you decide you hate it, delete the game, heck, get rid of game pass if you want. At least Microsoft just saved you
the 59.99 that Rockstar charges for the game.

Again, I have to reiterate this because I know some people don't read. I own and play PS4, Xbox, PC and Switch.

I play on the platform that has both the best games and the best value. To be honest with you, the more Microsoft opens their mouth, the more I don't want a PS5.

Yes, PlayStation has more compelling games than Xbox. Yes, PlayStation is where most of the console gamers are these days. With that said, when does all of that matter when you realize that the PS5 overall will be a much more expensive investment than if
you got an Xbox Series X and Game Pass. Take for example the announcement of Destiny 2 being on Game Pass. While I am aware that there are not as many Destiny 2 players today as there were the game's first year of release, you cannot deny that you will get
your money's worth on Xbox rather than PS5. Sure, Destiny 2 may not be on Game Pass forever but this is big. Even if you just stick to the PC version (which I am assuming and hoping that Destiny 2 will be on Game Pass PC), Game Pass will include the game and
all of the DLC, which is normally priced at $40 a piece. Would you rather pay $15 a month for the whole experience or pay for every DLC that comes out from here on out on PS5? At the time of writing this, Bungie does not allow you to transfer DLC purchases
to other platforms so that's even more reason why this is such a good deal.

It's surprising to me that a recent survey I saw online (I can't remember the name of the site I saw it on but it was a very popular game news outlet) showed that a lot of people would still choose to overpay if it means they can play a game on PS5 and I'm
not talking about first party games. Personally, I love Horizon and I love Spider-Man. Regardless, third party games are my go to games most of the time. For me, it is more worth it to miss out on PlayStation exclusives if it means that I can get amazing third
party experiences on another platform for a very low price. I don't know about you but I refuse to pay $60 for a new PlayStation game and then have to pay another $60 for a third party game that is either already on Game Pass or is available on PC or Xbox,
which of course on those platforms I will save more money with Game Pass. Understand, this is not a question of which console has the best games but rather which one will give you the best value.

Bottom line to all of this. Whether you like Xbox or not, whether you've played on PlayStation or PC your whole life, whether you've left Xbox ever since that idiot Don Mattrick tarnished the Xbox name with his stupid ideal "living room" vision, I think
it's time for everyone to come together and at least appreciate what Microsoft and Xbox are trying to do here. They know that next generation gaming can be expensive, they know people are still pondering the thought of whether they should upgrade immediately
or not. This is why Microsoft is supporting the Xbox One for a couple more years, this is why Microsoft is trying to entice gamers no matter the platform, this is why Microsoft will be the best choice for next gen gaming.
