I understand how you wanted to get the code you paid for. As a fellow gamer I know what you are feeling, since you confirmed to the store already and the store asked you to contact Xbox, on this case you may go directly to them to report this problem.

Just have your receipt ready as they are usually asking for it, you may contact them via https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us click on "Contact us" > "Subscriptions & billing" > "I can't redeem a code" > Type in the box "Support" > then click "see contact options"

You will then find there the option to request a callback or chat with them. I would suggest to go for chat instead for a faster transaction based on previous experience.

Sometimes, gift cards purchased at retail stores need to be activated at the checkout. If the card wasn't properly activated, it won't work. Double-check with Walmart to ensure the card was activated when you

purchased it.

Walmart Gift Cards are not an acceptable form of Payment with Microsoft.

If you are needing to purchase XBox Live Gold, Walmart sells Cards for that in store then you can redeem the code on the Xbox.

If you are wanting to use it to purchase a game, then you can purchase an Xbox Gift card from Walmart and use the code on that to apply it to your account.
