    I think taking that console to a friend's house is a great idea. Once there, if you're able to connect directly to the modem, I recommend that for the best experience updating the console. :) Let us know how it goes!

    Yes, the newest xbox (halo reach edition) has been updated since the new update was released. It's title update for reach is also up to date. I tried to update the old xbox (arcade?) with my usb and it appeared to update successfully but when I tried to
    connect to Live it said that it needs another update but it is unavailable. So since I cannot connect to Live I can't get the Halo reach title update for the old xbox. i think i might retry at my friend's house since he has a router and i can just get an easier
    access there rather than using my laptop to pick up the internet.

    I followed the steps and I still had the same problem. The xboxes recognize each other on the same network but they can't join each other (on Halo Reach). The friend I was talking about, I am able to system link with his xbox (arcade) with my newer one so
    i don't think the problem is in my Reach Xbox. Thanks for the reply.
