Discus and support Xcloud still streams low bitrate 720p in XboX Insiders to solve the problem; I frequently do remote play/Xcloud on my local wired LAN with 1Gbps connection.     Xcloud still streams low bitrate 720p


    I frequently do remote play/Xcloud on my local wired LAN with 1Gbps connection. Video quality is never more than 720p. The video bitrate is shamefully low i.e. 6-7Mbps (or 900KBps).

    ( i verified resolution by opening Edge browser in remote play)

    why is this quality so low? I heard others are getting 1080p. How do I get that?

    p.s. Bitrate for Xcloud stream is exactly same bitrate as Remote play on local LAN

    Twitch Video Quality Unacceptable When I Stream

    I just found that bitrate setting earlier after posting this and my recommended was like 480.00000something which is really low. It said medium or high settings would probably cause me to lag but I've tested both quite a bit today and it seems to work fine.
    I'd say its a solid 720p and occasionally it might hiccup to 480 for a bit. But I watched the archives and my friends watched me on the Twitch app on their phones and said it ran smoothly so I guess it's all about the bitrate settings. Just don't know why
    mine was so low at default.

    Xbox One Twitch Streams are 1080p only?

    Twitch app streams at 720p by default. However, you can adjust the bit rate of that stream by selecting the following speeds within the app before broadcasting:

    • Recommended (~2500kbps)
    • High (2000kbps)
    • Medium (1400kbps)
    • Low (800kbps)
    Hope that clears it up for you! :)
