    xCloud Remote Play - On connect, switches Speaker Audio to Headset


    Setup: - From PC start xCloud xBox Game Streaming Test App
    - Connect to Xbox Series X located on local network in the house

    Issue: - Once connected, the following setting gets changed on the Xbox Series X

    General > Volume & audio output > Speaker Audio > HDMI audio changes from prior setting ‘Stereo Uncompressed’ to ‘Headset format’ and then disables(greys out) the setting, not allowing you to change it until you disconnect the Xbox Game Streaming App

    Why can’t I keep the main Xbox audio output setting when streaming through the xbox game streaming test app?

    This is the response "No option for Audio to be played on the speakers with the chat headset connected whilst leaving the chat microphone in use. No way to route the output audio to an external speaker system."

    So what part isnt working? Is the audio not coming out of the speakers or is the mic not working? I know some mics might need software to run properly so plugging them straight into an xbox wont work and as far as the speakers did you go into the xbox
    settings and switch the audio output to speakers instead of headset? Also the best thing i have found for a streaming headset/mic combo has been a turtle beach elite pro 2 headset and this headset doesnt have to be connected into a controller, it plugs into
    a mix amp which plugs into the xbox.

    If you experience audio problems when you’re using Dolby Atmos, try turning it off:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide and select System >
      Settings.
    2. Select Display & sound, then from the headset audio options, select
      Stereo Uncompressed.
    Frozen speaker settings after you disconnect a Windows Sonic or Dolby Atmos headset:

    In most cases, disconnecting or turning off a headset/device configured for spatial audio (Windows Sonic or Dolby Atmos) will return the speakers to their previous audio settings. However, certain hardware—such as wireless headsets using an intelligent transceiver
    plugged into USB—might still show the headset is connected even after it’s disconnected or turned off.

    Unplug the headset or the headset component attached to the Xbox. This should immediately return the speakers to their previous configuration without changing the headset or speaker audio settings. Plugging the headset or the headset component back in should
    restore the headset format you’ve chosen.

    If you’re still having problems switching between speakers and headset on Xbox One, check the headset/speakers manufacturer’s website for more info.

    No Dolby Atmos sound in games

    Yeah, I tried all of that, nothing works. Switching between audio formats makes it glitch and waiting a second resets it but it still only works on stereo and 5.1 but the Atmos works FINE on movies, Dolby App etc. Atmos works, just not in games. Its clearly
    an Xbox issue.

    HDMI Audio kann nicht abgestellt werden. [HDMI audio cannot be turned off.]

    This cannot be correct? how can it be a bug to only want to play audio through a headset and not through both headset and soundbar/speakers? you have always been able to choose the option to only play through a headset and turn off the output via speaker, since the September update you no longer can.

    what possible use case would there be to play audio through both speaker and headset?
