    Hi there. My Xbox Series X is trying to install OS 10.0.19041.7772, onto existing OS .7339, but it always fails during the verification stage: “There was a problem with the update” and error code:

    0x8007045D 0x00000000 0x90070006.

    I have power cycled with machine (plug disconnected for 30 seconds) and done a soft-reset (retaining apps) but the problem remains. I’d rather not do a factory reset if possible.

    I’m unable to do an offline update since I don’t own a Windows computer and MS only make the OSU tool for Windows!

    The MS online help is useless and doesn’t contain my error code.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    It seems that your console experienced a corruption to the operating system which led to this system error. Those smaller issues were likely signs that something is affecting your operating system. It could be that the last system update did not download properly.     Thanks but I think I figured it out. I had omitted to say that i’m using the Xbox inside Mainland China. I didn’t think this would be a problem since I have installed many updates successfully before.

    However, finally i tried connecting the xbox to my VPN Router rather than normal China connected router, and this time the update process was successful.

    I’m not sure how the Great Firewall can corrupt a downlod package but that seems to be what was going on
