XBOXONE External Hardrive connection weak

The simple answer I've come to is Xbox and Microsoft products in general are all trash. Their customer service which relies heavily on the community rather than dedicated employees makes it even worse. I would just go Sony at this point.

It appears that you are having a connection issue with your external storage device connected to your Xbox One Series S. Let us check on this together and sort this out. Rest assured that we will help resolve the issue in a timely manner.

We appreciate for trying some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue and it appears that the issue is more complex that what we have expected. If we may ask, how is your external drive connected to your Xbox Console? Is it through a USB cord? Have you tried changing a new USB cord that is USB 3.0 or later?

Additionally. as part of isolating further to determine if the issue is related to the Xbox hardware or the external drive itself, do you have other external drive that we can use to test?

It is possible that the reason for getting the error is related to loose connection of external drive to your Xbox Console. There are three points that we can consider that is causing the issue. It could be the that the USB port for the Xbox console that is worn out, or the USB hub or the external drive itself.

If the update is causing the issue, we can report this case to our Team Xbox to be further investigation.

You should be able to use an external usb hardrive as well as the games you already have installed on your xbox, as long as it meets the requirements for downloading and storing games. I have a 3tb hardrive and use my xbox hardrive as well for downloading
and storing games and it works just fine, you just have to connect it to the usb port of your xbox for it to be recognized as an external device.

ok thanks I was thinking about transfering music or videos or pictures from PC. Is that do able?

the hardrive that comes with the 500 gb xbox 360 is that inside or attachable?

cause i have a external hardrive that holds 30 gb that i connected to my old xbox 360. Can that connect to new xbox 360?

how would you move the 500 gb hardrive to a new console i assume its inside?

assuming i get red ring of death.

I think the best thing to do then is get games on the 500 gb part and use external for game saves?

assuming i can attache the 30 gb hardrive to new console.
