Hello,

To start I would like to say I am frustrated so if I say anything rude I am sorry.

When I was younger Xbox came out with a deal that you could make a family of accounts back when you had to pay for each account's gold individually and this deal made it so that you could pay the price of 2 accounts and get 4 accounts. this was awesome as I have 3 brothers who each wanted their own accounts so my dad trying to save a few bucks went for the deal! That was all fine and dandy for a long time but fast forward to today where I have a lot of games purchased on that account and tons of hours spent of achievements and all I want to do is get access to EA games but in order to do that I need to create an EA account with my email and I need to confirm my email. Well guess what the automated email *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** has no accessible emails so guess who cant play EA games! Hence me trying to change my Xbox profile email so I can actually do things with my Microsoft account. I should say that EA games is what started me trying too change my email. Now it is affecting my Job as my employer uses Microsoft teams to do a lot of announcements and updates which I only have access to through a separate email.

I have been trying to change my Xbox live accounts email for about 3 months and have had no luck. I have added the emails alias i want to change it to but apparently because the original email is a xboxlivefamily.com email I get an error "Your organization's policies prevent you from changing your primary alias.". Well that's pretty crappy. The same organization that forced that email on me wont let me change it and ALSO doesn't provide a way to access any emails going to that email.

so going through all that my question. Is there a way to change the email on the gamertag and profile I've been playing on for 8+ years so I can actually use my Microsoft profile?

you would go to outlook.com and sign in with the email and password and it would bring up the emails for you.

The @xboxlivefamily.com is the Microsoft Account assigned to an account when created through the Family Plan. It is not a real email so if you change the Microsoft Account name it will require an actual email at that time.

@xboxlivefamily.com is only a temporary Microsoft Account. You can create your child an email of their own using the outlook.com email and change it to that but at this time that is the only option.

I think the problem is that my xbox account was originally a family account and it will not allow me to remove the xboxlivefamily.com email.

Hi ShootingApple94,

I'm sorry to hear about any issues you may be having with a Microsoft Account. Whenever you use an email to create a Microsoft Account it becomes the "Username" for the account. If that email is not accessible, I would recommend

change the primary alias on the account. During that process you will go through :

Sign in to the
Microsoft account website. (You may be asked to verify that you're the account owner.)
Select Your info.
Select Manage your sign-in email or phone number.

When you go to alias section in Microsoft account, when you add another email but cannot assign that email as the primary. What error message do you receive? An error may occur if the email that was added is already attached to another Microsoft Account.

Have you tried signing into it at outlook.com with that email and the password for the account?
