xbox360 continues to tell me I need a live account to download Netflix

So I picked up a refurbished 360 today, signed up for a Live account and went to download Netflix to the system and it tells me I need a Live account to continue, while I am signed in as my avatar! what is the fix here before I send this [Moderator

Xbox Live Managent issues/Xbox Live Connecting issues

when i log into my xbox live account it tells me i need to update my account(it tells me my account is suspended till i update it), but i did this a week ago and it tells me i need to update the card again.when i update it to the card that is in use it connects
me to xbox live, but it shows i have no friends. when i try to get on netflix it loggs me out and tells me i need to get gold account which i have already. is it just me or xbox live is down right now?

Any advice on the situation?

 

I got a great Gamertag, but now i cant play my 360 games on backwards compatible. Wat do?

So with Microsoft allegedly releasing all of those names into the wild, me and my friends looked for cool, OG names. I was able to get the name Vyper, but ever since I changed my name I haven't been able to play backwards compatible games. I would load the game and it would tell me that I needed to re download my account to be able to play, but when I tried to re download it it tells me "Sorry, this profile can't be downloaded. Original Xbox Live accounts aren't supported anymore. Create a new account instead." Was I actually able to get an OG name, but Microsoft still thinks its an old account, or am I doing something wrong?

If you continue to see the same message then go ahead and
Contact Support to see what's going on with the Live account.

With a refurbished 360, you may need a system firmware update. Check here for instructions: How to Get a New Xbox 360 Update

If your system is all up to date, then try logging into account.xbox.com and make sure that your new Live account is fully set up.

Thanks for the tip, sadly still not up. Same issue. I seem to recall it updating the second it went hot with the wifi connection. Filled in all the details for an account, tapped on the Netflix app and it send me to download button, hit that it circles up
for a split second then takes me right back to you need a Live account to continue!

 

Thats crazy it should work mine works like a charm!!

• Were you able to log into account.xbox.com to make sure that your new Live account is fully set up?

If the problem persists after visiting the website,
try the remove and add an Xbox profile on Xbox 360.
