BTW, i've hooked up the xbox one X to a BENQ 4k computer monitor, and it does 4k there. It looks like there must be some difference between the graphics driver or graphics card that make it incompatible with my TV, but work on another monitor.

So, we finally got to see the next gen "little brother" Series S. It's kept to a design not far from our current One S, and i my opinion looks pretty good. Properly not one that i am going to pick up. I will definitely go Series X all the way.
But a nice cost efficient alternative and a great entry model for new xbox players.

What are peoples thoughts ? and are you thinking about picking it up ?

The way i see it, i don't see the Series S as an entry model, it depends on what the resolution of TV / Monitor is being used, because the Xbox Series X is more aimed at 4K gaming and the Xbox Series S is more aimed at 1080p / 1440p gaming,

I have a 4K TV and a 4K Gaming Monitor so for me, I'm getting the Xbox Series X.

I'm getting this exact error when trying to switch my Xbox One X to 4k as well. No switch though for me. Just hdmi to 4k monitor. (LG 4k 27inch ips UHD monitor)

What's weird is it was working fine up until now with 4k resolution, and now it's not working. Which would make you jump to say monitor but I have a high end gaming computer and can run 4k on the monitor just fine (yes i know 4k is 2160p resolution and I
promise it's that on the PC).

Now I can never go 4k unfortunately. I hope it's not the Xbox one X but I think it is by process of elimination of unfortunately, I've read things on other forums where people have had issues with 4k with the Xbox One X as well and the xbox tech support
attributed it to "main board failure".
