Please check HDMI Connection. Make sure that your HDMI cable is securely connected and not damaged. You can also use a different HDMI cable or port on your TV/monitor. And see if it works.

And then go to Settings > General > TV & Display Options on your Xbox and ensure the resolution matches your TV/monitor's capabilities. If you're using 4K, kindly lower it to 1080p to see if the issue persists.

Make sure as well that your Xbox Series X is in a well-ventilated area because pverheating can cause graphical glitches.

Next is to restart your Xbox by holding the power button on your Xbox until it shuts down. Unplug the power cable for a few minutes, then plug it back in and restart.

Then ensure your Xbox Series X is running the latest system update. Go to Settings > System > Updates and check for updates.

At the same time, check if Fortnite has any pending updates.

If the game is still crashing after performing the troubleshooting steps, kindly uninstall the game and reinstall it to make sure no corrupted files are causing the crashes.

Windows update, store, metro, graphic card drivers, direct x ... everything.

ive tried my Xbox One S and Xbox One X on a 4k tv while playing Sea of thieves.

Must say the One X made a major upgrade in graphics thanks to enhanced HDR

This may _seem_ irrelevant, but please humor me: I'd start by clearing the system cache (it's just updates plus other temporary files, nothing that's at all important to anyone) by:

1) Tap the silver Xbox Guide button on the controller, go right 2 clicks to Settings, pick System Settings.

2) Select Storage (or Memory).

3) Move over any hard drive or memory unit (not the Cloud) & press (Y) on your controller & pick Clear System Cache.

4) When asked to confirm storage device maintenance, choose Yes.
