Xbox won’t turn on even though the light is on

I’ve disconnected and re-connected everything to my Xbox One X, the light on the front of the Xbox will illuminate but my controller won’t connect and nothing appears on my TV

Sounds like one of several issues.

1. Switch HDMI inputs on your tv

2. Try another HDMI cable

3. Power off Xbox by holding down the front panel power button then try powering on again

4. Use step 3 but unplug power cord for a few minutes then reconnect.

If none of these work, then go to Xbox.com/support

Thank you, I’ve tried the suggestions but still nothing had helped sadly but it’s still in warranty so I’ll get it serviced

Thanks for reaching out to us, I can provide some assistance. It seems that it could be a connection problem with the console and the monitor or even a power supply issue. In order to double check this, make sure the TV or monitor is on the right HDMI
setting. If this doesn't assist in the issue then I'll post a link with further troubleshooting steps to get you taken care of. I'll also post a link near the bottom so if your Xbox is still under warranty then you can have it sent to Xbox so they can find
any internal issues with the console and get it repaired for you. If you'd like to speak to a Rep about the issue if you get lost in submitting a ticket then I'll post our support page as well.

I have the same problem, I get the green screen, then black. Maybe Microsoft is not aware yet of an update problem?

I tried doing a hard reset and it did not work. I’ve tried restarting both router and Xbox numerous times. Any network setting I try to set manually won’t go through. The MAC address won’t restart after it’s entered. The IP addresses won’t go to the next screen after entering the Gateway IP. What is left to try?

Update:

Now my Xbox won’t turn on. I hit the button, it’s lights up and it makes the noise but immediately turns off. I had to unplug the power source for it to turn back on.
