Xbox won't go online

Please try doing a quick power cycle to refresh the connection.

1. Turn off the Xbox console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.

2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

Important Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

3. Plug the console power cable back in.

4, Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox console.

Once it is back on, kindly check if the console is online.

1. please try the manual power cycle steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait until the power supply light turns and remains orange for at least 30 seconds

2. reboot your network related hardware and wait until all is up and running again

3. Power the console on again to see if that fixed anything

If that didn't fix anything then try the following steps:

1. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Plug the power cord back in.
4. Press and hold the BIND button (located on the left side of the console) and the EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button on the console.
5. Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.
6. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. Note If you don't hear two power-up tones after 15 seconds, it means this failed. Likewise, if you hear any “power-down” chirps, that also means this failed.
7. You can release the BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.
8. This should show a menu with the option to factory reset the console, if it does not please try the steps again
9. Factory reset the console via the menu (with keeping games and apps installed)

If that also fails the best thing to do is to contact Xbox Support (via Phone or Microsoft Support Chat) to see if they have any other steps to try, keep in mind that if they can't fix it too, then the only option left would be to set up a repair request
(Xbox Support is able to assist with that too or you can do it online)

There is no one to rate you so it won't go down and the rating system is for online behaviour so it won't go back up while offline otherwise people would exploit it and just play offline until they got good status back before going back online.

what they are saying is, online passes are not going away, but without forcing online, trading in games won't be blocked.

Oh no that's terrible.

Knowing that the Xbox One has sold less than the PS4 ( I have a PS4 also ) I won't be able to go online later and enjoy some online races on Forza 5 with my friends. I won't be able to enjoy Plants Vs Zombies on Friday and in 2 weeks time when I go online
with LOADS of friends and family on Titanfall I won't enjoy it either.

But could that mean if I go on my PS4 today that because it's sold more than XB1 I shall enjoy the likes of Warframe and Rayman more?

It might not be so bad afterall
