xbox wont give a signal

i dont know how but when i took off the shell it worked

When you press the power button you hear the power-on tone and the light stays on on the power button?

that wont give you the full hz, it will just mean your outputting a signal from hdmi to display port, the xbox won't see the features of the display port you are connecting to therefore won't allow the settings to be changed for that.

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for advice on how to deal with this problem. I totally understand how this could be pretty concerning. We actually have a support article entitled Troubleshooting
a blank TV screen or monitor while your Xbox One is on that should help.

If that doesn't though, and it doesn't work on any other TV or monitor, you might have to consider looking into getting your console

repaired or replaced.
