Xbox Wireless Headset TLL-00001 - Entering a call on PC mutes all other audio.

I recently bought the Xbox wireless headset TLL-00001 to use with my PC. I have a bluetooth adapter connected and I can hear things until I try to go into a call, Then it mutes everything else except the call. I looked around online and it was suggested to disable the 'Xbox Wireless Headset Hands-Free AG Audio' in the playback and recording device list and then it should work. The playback defaults to 'Speakers Xbox Wireless Headset Stereo' and works fine, but there is only the one Recording option for this device (the Hands-Free AG Audio option). Disabling that leaves me with no microphone at all. I've confirmed that once the 'Hands-Free AG Audio' option is disabled in the Recording tab, I can join calls and still have other audio feeds come through, but then I have no microphone.

I also attempted to disable the Handsfree Telephony option from the device's 'Services' tab and that just removed both of those, but did not give me an alternative microphone option. I've already tried removing and re-installing the drivers and setting the headset settings to default. The only way it works properly is if it is plugged in, and then shows 'Xbox Controller' in the sounds settings. But the whole reason I bought this was to have a working wireless headset. It says it is built for both Xbox and Windows 10 PCs, so it should work.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to How I can fix this?

For anyone interested, I found a fix but you're probably not gonna like it (at least I didn't). From what I found, there's just simply no way to make it work this way via Bluetooth, and the only way to get it to work is with the official Xbox Wireless Adapter for PC. I don't totally understand why but it has to do with how the headset functions over a Bluetooth connection vs whatever proprietary connection Microsoft designs these things for.

On the plus side, I can confirm after buying one of these adapters, I've had 0 problems with the headset on my PC and it's been one of the best ones I've used to date. And the range is incredible. I can get all over my house with no drop in connection or sound quality on either end.

I have the same issue! I am going crazy on this! I'm using Bluetooth obviously!

Unfortunately I tried already and there's nothing to do! It appens the same thing!

try this

right click on the audio icon on the taskbar near the clock, then click sounds.

when the box opens click the communication tab and select do nothing and apply, see if that works.

does for me.

if you don't see sounds in that right click menu then click sound options then look for control panel sound settings.
