Xbox Wireless Headset mutes when using mic on Windows 10

All who complains about the hissing noise every headset does that as in the regular wired mic just not as loud. Secondly the beeping noise when u put it on mute is to remind u that u have it on mute like any other Xbox wireless mic @_@

I understand the sentiments of the microphone. That is not something that can be resolved through an update, as it is hardware related. What I can recommend is using the auto-mute feature, which you can set up in the Xbox Accessories app.

The Auto-mute feature silences your headset mic when you aren’t speaking. This reduces the amount of ambient sound picked up by your headset. The default Auto-mute setting for the headset is Low. Increasing Auto-mute to Medium or High will result in fewer sounds being picked up by the mic.

You can also turn Auto-mute Off, so that your headset mic is only muted when you manually use the headset’s mute button.

Note If you’re experiencing issues where your friends can’t hear you speaking in chat, check your Auto-mute settings or try turning Auto-mute off.

Many of the headsets I have a toggle to mute my mic on my headset itself. Have you checked that out to see if you may have muted your mic? Sometimes it will be a switch that displays an orange sticker when muted.

1.Check the latest firmware for your headset:

Make sure your headset is updated with the latest firmware using the Xbox Accessories app. On Xbox X|S and Xbox One consoles, you can access the Accessories app in the Settings menu: Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories.

2. Check if your mic is not muted:

Check in headset settings that Auto-mute is not set to High

3. Restart both the headset and your device.
