  1. Xbox Wireless Headset Mic Monitoring DIY Resolution

I have recently purchased an Xbox Wireless Headset but like so many on the internet I just cannot hear my own voice in my earpieces from the mic monitoring. My wife tells me I am talking too loud even though I am in another room behind a closed door. I know miic monitoring does work because I can hear my voice in my earpieces if I cup both hands around my mouth and mic. Obviously I can't play the console if I do that and I shouldn't have to do that anyway.

I see that these complaints have been going on for more than a year withoput resolution so obviously Microsoft must know of the problem but it would appear have no intention, or have no idea how, to resolve the issue.

It seems to me that the entire issue is that the mic boom is simply too short so my question is, does anyone know how I myself could lengthen the mic boom so it is near my mouth and then hear my own voice. I am currently on the lookout for a drinking straw or similar tube that is of sufficient diameter to fit over the end of the mic boom but has anyone already found a similar DIY solution that they are willing to share?

    Thanks

    Xbox Wireless Headset mic monitoring

I upgraded to their wireless headset over Christmas, and mic monitoring is working on that device.

I am now assuming the wired mic monitoring has a limitation due to the lack of power or something similar.

Anyways, wanted to share with everyone. If you want mic monitoring you can hear, upgrade to the wireless model!

I have not, how do you do that through the console?

Anybody know if the wireless headset is any better with mic monitoring?

    Thanks!
