    Xbox Wireless Headset keeps breaking up/disconnecting from Series X


    Hi community,

    I just bought a new Series X and I've experiencing constant connection loss between the Xbox Wireless Headset and my xbox, sometime, if I'm using the headset it even disconnects the controllers. The controllers work fine when the headset isn't connected, and the headset itself works perfectly on any other device, including my previous Series S where I used to use them.

    I've reset my xbox, power cycled, reset the controllers and tried hard resetting the headset too. Nothing seems to be working, is there a fix please? I will most likely be returning my Series X if not.

    I'm having the same issue. It's also unpairing my controller. I thought it was the controller, then realized I never had this issue before I got the wireless headset.

    We also have 3 Xboxes ok the same floor. I have a Series X, my son has a Series S, and my daughter has an Xbox One Series X. They're all within 20ish feet of each other on the 2nd floor of our house. They have the wired headset and don't have any issues.

    I realized I [usually] have my wireless headset paired to my cellphone at the same time. After pairing it with my phone once, it'll connect every time. I'm going to try turning off the Bluetooth on my phone to see if it helps.

    It's been incredibly frustrating as it'll often unpair the controller in the middle of a match and/or stop playing sound.

    I have the same issue.

    Controller and headset both disconnect or have some sort interference. Never had a problem on my Xbox One or Series S. But the problem is persistent on Series X.

    Have tried all sorts of things like disabling all wifi and getting a new router. Nothing helps.

    Same issue here. I've had the headset randomly disconnect or start to lose connection (sound gets garbled), then reconnect after some time. I can power it off and power it back on to reconnect, but it's highly annoying. Also, sometimes it works perfectly for no reason. I've seen random disconnects with controllers too, so might be something with the wireless band they are using that is highly susceptible to interference. I've factory reset the console and the headset, made no difference. Even hardwired the console to make sure it was off WiFi, and the issue persists.

    Some clarification on this issue would be great. I've seen a lot of people complain about this.

    if you do decide to keep them, which its honestly not worth it, do yourself a favor and make it a habbit to put them on and take them off by grabbing the the lower headband part like near where it attaches to the the earmuffs or cups. if you do not, eventually the cheap plastic in which they were made WILL break. this is a terrible oversight by microsoft, which almost seems intentional, since mine broke almost the same day my warrenty ran out. i had to super glue the heck out of them, and even by grabbing them by the band, the other side has now broken. tis a damn joke.

    I have the exact same issue. After researching it, I think it is a fairly common issue with the Xbox Series X. I am considering getting rid of mine too. I have tried everything possible to fix it but haven't been able to. I don't have these issues with my gaming PC or my PS5 probably because they use a 2.4ghz USB receiver.

    Very disappointing. I find it crazy that anyone can release a new generation console in 2022 with these kind of issues. I shouldn't have to hide my router, try turning off my cell, search my house for other Bluetooth devices and shut them off, go on some wild goose chase to turn everything in my house off to fix it... crazy that they even suggest such things. It should "just work" (Steve Jobs). I think I will return mine and forgo this generation of Xbox. Hopefully the next Xbox will stop using this silly proprietary radio frequency tech and start using the standard USB receivers like PS5 and PC.
