Xbox Wireless Headset Firmware 0.0.9.24

Same issue here. I've scoured Reddit and other forums and haven't seen a fix yet. The headset works fine on Bluetooth and when connected via USB-C, but while using the official Xbox Wireless Adapter (the slim one), I get garbled and choppy audio in both games and general Windows audio such as Zoom meetings.

I'm using the headset on Windows 10 with headset firmware v.0.0.9.24 as of 11/15/2021.

There are several steps in Troubleshoot xbox wireless headset that may assist you.

If you connect the headset to your controller, make sure you Update xbox wireless controller to the latest firmware. All controllers you use need to run the firmware update. I prefer the uSB method.

We’ve found that the most updated firmware number is 0.0.9.24, but this may only be possible by plugging the headset into a computer, by it’s charging cable, opening the Xbox accessories app on your PC and updating it.

If you can, could you try to attempt this update?

If you could list any games you have played where this issue occurs and what kind of parts in the game it happens (i.e. a cutscene, loading screen, etc), please feel free to share it as well.

I will assume that the firmware version 0.0.9.24. In your Device Manager under:

• Sound, video, and game controllers
  
• Audio Inputs and outputs
  

The headset is represented properly.

Under Settings > System > Sound when your headset is connected it has the names from the Device Manager for the headset as the Output and for the Input it is the headset microphone?

To be clear I am asking because I am want to try and recreate this and help you solve this, so I apologize in advance if I am asking a lot of clarity questions.

The behavior can be caused by a number of factors. Low battery life, wireless interference, outdated firmware could be a cause. It could even be a title issue with a game or app.

Does this only happen with a specific game, or every time with every title? The wireless headset connects directly to the Xbox console, not the controller (Unless you're using a wired headset). Like XBF John mentioned above, please check the firmware on your headset (and controller).
