    Xbox wireless controller not recognized by Windows


    Hi all

    I am trying to do a very simple thing, or what I thought was a very simple thing: using a wirelss cotroller on my Windows 10 machine via bluetooth.

    First off, my PC doesn't seem to have a Bluetooth enable button in Settings>Devices.

    Second, when I click on "Add Blutooth or Other Device, I get this:

    This also happens while trying to pair the controller by pressing the appropriate button.

    I did connect a Blutooth external adapter but got the same results with the adapter installed. I re-installed the adapter three times and made sure all drivers are updated.

    The adapter itself seems to recognize the controller, but the pairing fails every single time.

    I don't know what else to do, everyone make it seem like a very simple process but it simply isn't working. I read there are "pairing codes". I don't know what those are. I am not asked to enter any codes and those are not mentioned in any video i saw on
    how to connect the wireless controller.

    I'd like to mention that the controller is brand new and with full batteries. Right now it's just a paperweight waiting to be activated.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Can I use Original Xbox360 controller on pc (the controller of the xbox360)?

    If the Xbox 360 controller is a wired controller, then the controller can be used on the PC, just plug it in the USB port, and it should recognize it and let you use it. If it is a wireless Xbox 360 controller, then you will need the Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows to connect the controller to your PC.

    The original XBox Elite controller requires the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 so without that adapter it will not be recognized properly by Windows. The newer, Elite Series 2 can connect to a Windows 10 PC without the need of an adapter.

    sorry to hear. First of all the 360 controller only works with USB-cable on Windows 10 computer. For the wireless mode you need a

    speciall wireless adapter and a extra driver    . And second as far as I know, sorry some XBOX ONE GAMES do not recognize the 360 Controller.

    Hello Ben,

    We understand that you're experiencing an issue with being able to connect your Xbox One wireless controller to your Windows 10 PC as it is not recognized as a device.

    Our suggestion here, please review our How to connect an Xbox One Wireless Controller to a Windows PC
    support article which has the various processes for setting this up, even containing notes in regards to why the controller might be recognized on the PC.

    Yes. Btw the thing about windows 11 saying "this devise could perform faster if connected via usb 3.0" is not ea sports problem, it`s about windows and xbox - both microsoft. The whole problem is about microsoft in fact as f windows 11 doesn`t recognize xbox wirelees controller with xbox wireless adapter as they are as it should recognize at the first place.
