    Xbox Wireless Controller not being recognized anymore


    My Xbox Wireless Controller isn't even detected anymore by Microsoft-related apps. Xbox Accessories, Microsoft Edge, the Xbox app itself... none of them even recognizes it as an actual controller anymore. They don't detect an official controller! It did work until a couple days ago, and they stopped detecting it out of nowhere. On the other hand, Steam keeps detecting and using it normally.

    I've already updated my controller to the latest firmware. Nothing changed.

    What's happening!?

    Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

    My name is welcome to the community.

    Hello William, if you have a USB cabe, try t follow the procedures bellow.

    First remove the batteries from the controller and for 1 minute keep pressing all the buttons on the controller and moving the knobs.

    After you're done, plug the USB cable controller into your PC and turn it on.

    After this try to revert the firmware following the link below.

    The console recognizes the controller, it appears in the settings- xbox wireless controller menu. But nothing is heard, it is as if it were muted. But it is not.

    Is the controller a wireless controller or wired? If it is wireless, how are you connecting it? If by using the play & charge kit, then the Xbox 360 controller will not work, as the cable is only recognized on PC for charging only. You need to use a Xbox
    360 Wireless adapter for PC to connect a wireless Xbox 360 controller to your PC.

    Hello Erin,

    It seems that the Turtle Beach headset is not recognized when connected to one of the controllers.

    Is the red controller a Xbox One Wireless Controller? Or is it wired into the console?

    If wired, attempt different USB connection ports, and if wireless attempt to plug the controller directly into the console to see if this is the same result.

    If it is still the same result without the headset being recognized, then the controller may need to be replaced.

    Hello Ben,

    We understand that you're experiencing an issue with being able to connect your Xbox One wireless controller to your Windows 10 PC as it is not recognized as a device.

    Our suggestion here, please review our How to connect an Xbox One Wireless Controller to a Windows PC
    support article which has the various processes for setting this up, even containing notes in regards to why the controller might be recognized on the PC.
