XBOX Wireless Controller issue (windows) "Powering off"

I have two xbox "series x" wireless controllers. I am on windows 11.

I have an official wireless reciever and an unofficial one.

I have updated the firmware on both controllers.

I have tried each adaptor in turn. In fact I used the unofficial one for a month then I bought the official and used that for 2 months.

I have tried the adaptors straight in the motherboard USB port(s) and I have also tried them in USB extenders.

I have a plethora of rechargable batteries (14 in total).

In any combination of things, I am having this issue:

If a controller is disconnected, runs out of battery, turns off due to being idle it will refuse to re-connect.

It will flash a few times, hold it's light for half a second and fade straight off.

Both controllers do this. They do this if only one has been used that day, or if both have been used that day.

They do this even if batteries are changed, or fresh out of a packet.

They do this even if I take batteries out and wait 10+ seconds.

The only "fix" is to restart windows.

What is the solution? I have spent £160 to have a subpar experience.

Edit: **It will continue to do this even an hour later. It will also quickly show up in the xbox accessories app and then go again.

    :)
