Xbox Wireless Adapter won't sync

I bought a brand new Series X controller and a brand new wireless adapter. The adapter installs fine but the controller won't sync to the adapter. I've tried everything on the support page but nothing helps. I know it works on my PC because a month ago my old adapter was working perfectly. I bought a new one because when I tried everything on the support page last time and it didn't fix it, I thought my adapter was broken and I needed to replace it. But the problem is still happening with this new one. How can I fix this?

The fault could be from the controller as well, in which case my advice could be to change the batteries and then update it by following the steps on the link below:

From my experience with wireless adapters if you use anything other than a wireless adapter for the Xbox it won't work. Most adapters for pc or other devices won't work for gaming systems

i think what your saying is that the sync button is broken and you want to sync a wireless headset?

if so then yes its possible to buy a xbox wireless adapter and use that to sync the new headset, instructions on how to do that will be with the adapter. If your going to purchase an adapter look at the xbox shop first as im not sure if they do them, failing
that i would go for a named brand as you will want the quality from it.

The Xbox wireless adapter uses the proprietary wireless radio technology built in to the Xbox controllers rather than bluetooth, which is in theory a higher performance wireless standard. If you already have a bluetooth receiver in your PC, then you don't
need to purchase the adapter and can just sync the controller using bluetooth. Alternatively, you can connect the controller using the included USB C to USB A cable that comes with the Elite Series 2. Whether you use the bluetooth radio, or Xbox wireless adapter,
you can absolutely sync multiple controllers to your pc via a single receiver.
