Xbox wireless adapter has no drivers

Bluetooth on my computer is ****. Because of this, I bought a wireless adapter so that I could play with my controller wirelessly and not have to break a bunch of microUSB cables. I took my adapter out of the box today, and plugged it in, and there were
no drivers in it. Through a lot of trial and error, I have discovered no ways to install these drivers, and on the official Xbox support page, the link to troubleshoot the wireless adapter leads me to a link to troubleshoot the controller itself, which is
not the issue. I have no clue how to fix this and no one at Microsoft has been any help.

The adapter install automatically, and all the necessary drivers are part of windows. Have you pressed the binding button on both devices to pair them?

Make sure your windows is fully up to date, especially if youre not running 10

There are no drivers to download as the driver is already built into Windows 10. What version of Windows are you running?

Thanks for the reply. I recommend to try removing the driver for the wireless adapter.

Try reinstalling the drivers in case they have partially installed. To do so, you need to uninstall the drivers. Follow these steps to complete this process:

Go to your Device Manager.
Locate Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows in the Network adapters section.
Click Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows to bring up the Properties window.
Click on the Driver tab.
On the Driver tab, click the Uninstall button.
On the confirmation window, check Delete the driver software for this device.
Unplug the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows and reboot your Windows 10 device. Once the device is back on, plug in the adapter.
If the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows still does not install, follow all of the above steps thoroughly one more time. If this doesn't work, your adapter needs to be replaced. See How to get service for

"You must update the drivers:

Click "Network Adapter" to expand the menu and right-click "Xbox One Wireless Adapter for Windows" > Update Driver Software > Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software"

This fixed the audio issue I was having with the controller connected via the Wireless Adapter (it worked via USB but not wirelessly until I manually updated said network adapter driver). Thanks!
