Xbox Wireless Adapter does not work on laptop

My xbox wireless adapter does not work on my asus laptop. When I first bought the adapter it worked for about an hour then would no longer bind my controllers. The adapter works perfectly fine on other computers however.

Well I have the latest XBOX and router firmware and I have a datel wireless adapter for xbox and a wireless to ethernet adapter for xbox. Both work because I have tested them on my laptop. Also my router is not on the not supported list.

I think the problem is that my router does not work with my xbox. I have run my xbox through my laptop to wireless and it works fine. The only difference between the setup i used for my laptop to wireless and my wireless ethernet adapter is that the adapter
takes on the name of the device it is connected to.

I know this sounds stupid but my xbox does not come up as a device on my router (ie it has no name) this could mean something.

Also my router firewall has been detecting port scanner attacks at the same time as I am testing XBOX live on my xbox when I had it connected to my wireless adapter or wireless ethernet adapter but not my laptop.

Have indeed already done this with allowing it to wake the computer and also unchecked the box too saying to allow the computer to turn the device off.

No success.

The model is GL502VS.

I believe the model was released in 2017.

Also, it worked for about an hour after I first installed the drivers, now it only works on my desktop.

try to uninstall the drivers then restart laptop once its up and your logged on THEN REINSERT CORD OR RECIEVER . Let windows find the driver,after installation of driver restart laptop. Also the drivers may not be signed drivers so you would have to let
us know how it went and we can go further

Hi there,

Thank you for letting us know that you have isolated the issue to the Asus laptop. It's possible that some program or application running in the background is causing the drivers to not properly install.

I recommend restarting your PC with a
clean boot and then after you have completed a clean boot, go ahead and try re-installing the drivers with the method mentioned above.

Let us know if this makes a difference.
