Xbox Windows 10 PC App Headset Microphone Not Working

I have recently begun to have this problem where my microphone stops working in the windows 10 pc app when I am in a party with friends. It has worked fine until about a week ago that I first had this problem. I have a logitech g430 headset and the mic
on it has never acted up, and has been very clear throughout my time using it. Nothing indicates that the mic isn't working inside the xbox app except that it does not show any audio coming through. I have tried changing settings within the xbox app, changing
permissions in pc settings, and resetting the app.The headset cable splits into two separate jacks for input and output, but it comes with an adapter that combines them into a usb connection. I have tried using it without the adapter, but this also does not
work. Neither restarting the app nor the whole pc works, and the only that I have found to work is restarting my pc and then switching the usb port that the headset is plugged into, but his only works for a couple minutes and then goes back to the original
problem. My mic works perfectly on everything else like apex, csgo, fortnite, discord, and steam. It seems to be the xbox app that is the problem, but it couls be something else. Please help!

Another issue I'm running into with the headset adapter + windows 10 streaming:

I docked my surface pro 2 into the docking station, which has a wired PC microphone plugged in. When I start playing (Rainbow Six Siege), the game audio is coming through my headset adapter (via the Xbos Stereo Headset), but the Windows 10 Xbox app is utilizing
my wired PC microphone instead of the Stereo Headset/Headset Adapter. I can't figure out a way to force the streaming app to use the microphone plugged into my controller...

(not sure if I should document this issue in another thread)

It seems there may be some minor issues between the Windows 10 Xbox streaming application when used with the Xbox Headset Adapter.

Have you tried to check for any pending driver updates?

Make sure all drivers are all up to date. We recommend manually downloading the latest driver from the hardware vendor’s website to make sure the one installed on your PC is updated. Outdated or incompatible drivers could cause issues such as this one.

There are various reasons why the microphone from your Logitech G930 headset is not working. There is a possibility that the current firmware of the headset is not compatible with the new Windows Update or the update was not installed successfully. To better
assist you with your concern, please provide us the following information:

Does the microphone work on other apps?
What is the exact error message when you are trying to use the microphone on the Xbox App?

In the meantime, we recommend that you install all the critical and important updates by following the steps on this link.

I'm sorry, but your post confuses me a bit.

In the heading, you say your friend hears you, but you can't hear yourself? Or do you mean you can't hear her?

So I understand it correctly, that your friend is on PC?

When your friend is on PC, and you can't hear your friend, ask them to open the Settings in Windows 10.

In the Windows 10 settings, have them search for "Sound" in the top search bar.

Under "Input" make sure they have selected the correct Microphone device, and that they didn't accidentally mute the microphone (if the Microphone has a muting switch).

Have them talk into the microphone and check if the microphone display in the settings app is moving.

Also, what type of microphone are they using? Is that an USB headset, or is that a headset with analogue 3.5mm jacks?
