Xbox will not pick up microphone.

So, 3 days ago, my Xbox randomly stopped detecting my mic. Since then, I’ve tried every single solution given to me by Xbox support, and have tried with different controllers as well as different headsets. I can confirm the audio jacks work because I can hear everything my friends say, they just can’t hear me. I’ve wiped my Xbox twice and it still will not work.

Currently I’m on a Razer Kraken Storm trooper headset. I’ve tried with another razer kraken, as well as a Corsair headset. All 3 microphones were tested using Audacity and they work flawlessly. All privacy settings are correct as well.

Nothing. Any ideas from this point? Every support person I’ve talked to has said that I’ve pretty much exhausted every single option.

The Xbox party chat system and other services use network ports. I think your connection ports are limited or blocked by your ISP.

I recommend calling your ISP and asking them to set a fixed IP for the console in your router's DHCP session and open the ports that Live needs to work properly.

Port 88 (UDP)

Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

Port 53 (UDP and TCP)

Port 80 (TCP)

Port 500 (UDP)

Port 3544 (UDP)

Port 4500 (UDP)

Also ask to put the IP of the console in the DMZ zone, if you need additional ports this function will take care of that.

I will try this. I cleared the MAC once and got nothing however.

Could you share your phone's connection with the console as a hotspot?

Before clearing your console's MAC in the console's advanced network settings, reboot and connect to your phone's network and test party chat again.
