    Xbox will not boot after failed update


    Last night I ran the requested update and for some reason it failed during the process. Unfortunately I can not remember the error message. However it said restart system.

    It never restarted and when I tried to start using the controller it wouldn't recognise it. I can press the power on button which starts but shuts off after 5 seconds.

    I have tried to the remove power for over 5 minutes and will not work. It also won't let me reset it. Also there are no us devices connected. Any idea would be appreciated.

    Can you try to install a recovery image from USB using the method described here:

    https://support.xbox.com/xbox-one/console/reset-factory-defaults-using-usb-flash-drive

    You will need an USB flash drive onto which you download and unpack the recovery system. Then follow the steps to reinstall the console's operating system.

    Make sure you know your Microsoft Account email, as you will have to download your account after this recovery again. If you use a different account, you won't be able to access your game purchases.

    If you have already tried the offline update option which should be fully up to date with it current public version of the xbox OS. I have to ask for you to try again on a different usb port and/or different usb pendrive offline update

    I also have to ask if you are on the insider program at all as well in case this update was a preview update issue.

    Last night? Are you insider? If yes then unfortunately you can only try to start your console.

    Try to waiting more 1 hour with unpluged a power cord, i don't understand how it works, but time to time this helps me to recover my xbox

    Problem with update

    Just bought the xbox .. update fails within 1 second of trying. Internet works, says its connected. Hard booted after unplugging for 30 seconds .. lots of complaints on the forums. Need a response!
