Xbox video app on WP8

Although I have an Xbox account with an associated credit card set up, I am able to purchase videos through the app. It appears to be working but then fails, suggesting that I look up the error code on Xbox.com Unfortunately there is no error code!

What to do when support teams can't help with a problem?

I believe there is an Xbox video app for win 8 but not wp8. Every story I have just read says wp8 does not support Xbox video currently. I can link them all if u would like. Wp7 is supported but not wp8. Or you can use google like I said in the beginning.

 

Xbox Video on Windows 8 Phone or PC

Xbox Video is not yet available on WP8 (but it was recently announced it will be very soon) and in order to watch from a PC you need Windows 8 or 8.1. Then you just go to the Xbox Video app and the purchase should be sitting there already, ready to be streamed
or downloaded (whichever is applicable).

 

Doh...! "unable to purchase...", obviously.

 

What is the full error message?

Is there no code along with it?

For now, log in at
https://commerce.microsoft.com and make sure your billing information appears correctly there - the card details, and the billing address. Preferably the address will match your account region and physical location.

Also log in at
https://account.live.com and verify the same information appears there too.

Give it another try. If this happens again, let us know by entering the code below at xbox.com/errorhelp so we can investigate", but there is no code for me to enter.

I have checked the links you suggested, and everything appears to be correct. I am able to use this same billing information to purchase other apps in the Store, so I'm confident that there is no problem with my card details, etc.

 

Is your current location (country) currently a supported region for Xbox Video?

If the list of these is smaller than the ones supported by Xbox Live (I'll try to find a list), that would explain why you could download apps/games but not videos.

 

Thanks again Maxen13. I'm in the UK, and the TV store within the Xbox Video app is mostly British TV titles, so I'd be surprised if the UK isn't supported!

 

Yeah, the UK is a supported region.

I don't really have any other suggestion right now, but I'll see if I can find anything else anywhere.

Are you trying to do this via Windows 8 or Windows Phone 8?

 

Windows Phone 8 using the recently released app.

 

By the way, I have successfully bought the programme I wanted via the Windows 8 app, so this is definitely a problem that's specific to WP8. Thanks again for your help on this!
