Xbox ‘Ventilation Problems’

I have had the Xbox One S for around ~4 years now and have never had this problem. This morning, I went on to Apex and it shut off automatically. When I turned it on again, a ventilation message about ‘preventing overheating’ appeared on my screen. The console
was warm, but not hot (it has been way hotter). It was already in a ventilated place so I hard restarted it: didnt work (same thing happened after 5 minutes of turning it on). Then I did a factory reset: didn’t work. Then I tried letting it cool for around
2 hours: didn’t work. By this point I dismantled it to have a look inside. I only took out the outer case to clean the airway holes and remove some lint/dust (there was quite a bit). My warranty expired a while ago anyways, so I didn’t think twice: it DID
NOT WORK.

I’m planning soon to open the console and replace the thermal paste covering the cpu, since I know the Microsoft ones aren’t really good. I will also fully clean the fan.

Is there anything else I can really do??? Ive exhausted all options and do not want to pay £180 for another One S. Please help asap

May I also add, the time it takes for it to automatically turn off is inconsistent. Sometimes it takes 1 minute, others it can last an hour. This process is also GREATLY accelerated when loading games. The console lasts longer when being on an app, i.e,
Youtube.

I removed the cover an notice the cpu fan is not turning when i turned the console on. Maybe the fan is done or something is wrong with a temperture regulation sensor?

My Xbox One S is also just having the same symtoms today. After getting the overheat/ventilation warning, It will run for about 1 min with and turn off. I also tried resetting the power supply and it didn’t help. I wonder if there was some kind of update
that happened that created this problem?

If your Xbox is no longer working at this point, I'm afraid your only step is to send it in for a repair.

This is a hardware issue probably caused by the damage of the console. The progress of your games is registered under your online account (unless you have played all your games offline) I suggest you to send the console for repairs:
