Xbox Username Account

Hello all.

I set up an Xbox account back after original Halo came out on my friends Xbox in like 2004 to play with him on his box.

I didn't get my own Xbox 360 until 2010 and couldn't log in, couldn't remember my password, etc....

I created a new Gamer Account under my wife's MS account (this one, that I am typing on) back then. It's her email, her MS account but I have been gaming on it for 10 years now. She doesn't game and doesn't want my Xbox linked to her email anymore.

Is there any way I can transfer my Gaming account or Xbox Log In over to MY email account?

I do have an Xbox Gamertag on that email, but I never use it and don't care if it gets deleted or removed. I'd just like to be able to log into my Xbox without using her account, getting Xbox gaming stuff sent to her email, etc....

I have over 830K in Gamerscore for the past 10 years and I don't want to give that up. I just want the tag and score linked to MY email and not hers

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We see you have question on
gamertag change.

Unfortunately, once name has been changed there is no way of reverting back. You would need to pay the amount to change the name again.

When I logged into windows 10 using my Microsoft account it instantly used my Xbox username. It there any way I can make my Minecraft account different than my Xbox username? This would be extremely helpful, especially because my Minecraft username
is 13 letters, and Xbox usernames can only be 12 letters!

Where can I find my username?

If you have a Mojang account, your username can be found and changed on your Mojang account page.

Can I change my username?

Users who have a Mojang account (the default account type for all accounts registered after November 2012) can change their username for free at account.mojang.com/me by clicking the
(Change) link next to your profile name.

If you sign in with your username, as older accounts do, you'll first need to migrate to a Mojang account before you can change your username.

There's no way to get the gamertag/username of the account you reported on Xbox.

What will happen to inactive xbox one accounts?

If there is an inactive account with a username i want could i claim the username?

Hi,

An inactive Xbox account will be deleted after being inactive for 5 years. If you have made a purchase on that account, It will not be deleted. My best advice would be to have a slight alteration of the desired username to be unique. As an example, if the
name Deathzone117 is taken, you can try . I hope this helps,
