Xbox turn on for 1-5 seconds then abruptly shuts off

Did you do a Hard Reset?

1. Here’s how: a.On the console, press and hold the Xbox button until the light behind it turns off (about 5 seconds), which means the console is off.

b.After the console has shut down, unplug the power cord and wait 30 seconds.

c.Plug the console back in and turn it on using the Xbox button. Power cycling will reset the network card and clear the cache.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you here. I'm in beta preview, recently downloaded the new version of the app coincidentally, and mine abruptly shut off, now it won't even turn back on.

I'm experiencing the same issues. My system was working fine for the first few weeks but when I start playing it today, it keeps shutting off. Every time I'm 5 minutes into the game the system will shut off. And there would be a few times when after it shuts
off, I will turn it back on and it will shut off a second later. It will do this like 5 times until it turns completely on. I hardly was playing my Xbox one. I probably played it 10 times since I bought it.

It would only shut down when you turn it off, or if you leave it idle for some time (there's a setting for that).

It should never shut down abruptly while you're playing a game.

Several questions for you:

- Do you get any sort of error message when you turn it back on?

- Are you able to turn it back on immediately after it shuts off?

- Are the system fans really loud and the console is hot to the touch after it turns off,

perhaps from overheating?
