XBOX System update screen burning plasma panel

I have a Samsung plasma panel for 4 years, taking lots of care not to have a burn in image - after gaming, I always use a rolling screen for 30 minutes. This week I noticed some burn in - three circles on the left side of the screen.
I figured out it should be something from a game or from XBox menu. Nope. Just now that I received a new upgrade I discovered that the three circles are those showing the system update progress. =\ The problem: this update screen, depending on the update,
takes 20-40 minutes with the same pictures and texts (even more if some download error occurs). Now I'm trying to remove the burn in using different techniques but I just can't get rid of it. It sucks watching a movie or playing with those marks =\\ XBox team,
please do something to prevent this to happen to everyone else. Put that screen dimmer in this update screen, or some other solution. Lots of people are buying OLED panels, it will happen the same with them.

    :)

    TV's That Create Gaming Lag

Im running a Samsung 50" 6400 series plasma. Excellent color, bright screen, no burning issues, no lag issues either.

    Great gaming tv, IMO.

Can you set your console to "Instant On mode"? That way the console will update itself while it is turned off, so your screen can't burn in.

What's the best TV brand to game on?
I have a phillips 32 inch LCD TV,and its great.

I had a sony bravia prior to this one and it was just awful.

I think there comes a point when a TV is too big for gaming,if you have to turn your head to see each side of the screen, you have gone a bit to big.

    -

You also shouldn`t really use a plasma screen to game on ,due to possible screen burn,LCD doesn`t have this issue.
Plasma tech has come a long way. You would be hard pressed to find plasma panels that have image burn in. Because of this fact, plasma has become the enthusiast's choice in tv tech the last couple of years or so. I have a Sony Bravia and the thing
is junk. I must have gotten one of the lower end models or something because Sony's LCDs used to be among the best. If the one I got is any indication of what Sony's panels are now, then their quality has truly sunk into the sewer. Samsung makes some great
panels, and I hear great things regarding LG's as well.

Xbox logo causing image retention or burn in on my Panasonic plasma

Plasma TV's and the phosphors that create the image on the screen have improved over the last few years becoming efficient and quicker to decay. Screen burn is harder to do - but not impossible.

Most plasmas have anti-retention tech (such as wipes/screen brighteners/moving images around etc). Older plasmas might not have all these.

I would suggest you have a look at your plasma TV manual. You might have burn-in problems which you might be able to sort.

Even though its less common now somewhere in that manual you'll still find a warning in it about burn-in, which is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty precisely because the manufacturer considers burn-in to be caused by improper use of the display.

    Plasma TV question
I JUST bought a Samsung 51" Plasma TV set, burn is no issue on the newer sets, they have a "reset" feature that makes burn an issue of the past.

Running at 1080p I have no lag at all, no pixelation issues, no ghosting, nothing that my old plasma experienced.

My plasma runs at about the same temp as my lcd, both of which are far cooler than my lcos tv.

LCD's and Plasmas of the current generation have about the same lifespan.
Ah, ignorance is bliss.

Yes, you can get temporary ghosting which can be cured. Actual burn-in can only occasionally be masked by burning a new image over the complete screen. In other words, it is permanent unless you wish to damage the entire viewable area. Burn-in is caused
when a set's phosphors have basically aged prematurely. A damaged pixel is a damaged pixel. The only way to fix it is to replace the screen, or as I've already stated, attempt to damage the entire screen equally. Since plasma displays use phosphors, and phosphors
are susceptible to burn-in... Burn-in will always remain possible on a plasma display.
