Xbox switches off when loading games?

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with your console.

Unfortunately, it sounds like your power supply unit might no longer be working correctly.

If you don't mind, I'd appreciate it if you could answer the following questions:

- Have you noticed if the LED indicator on the PSU turns off or starts flashing at the time your console shuts down?

- Is your PSU plugged directly into one of the wall's outlets? sometimes extension cords, power strips, surge protectors, and similar devices can cause this kind of problem.

- Do you have any external devices plugged into your console's USB ports?

- Have you already tried unplugging your PSU from both your console and the outlet for a few minutes? 5 - 10 minutes should be enough.

Considering what you mentioned about the PSU's temperature and smell, I'd suggest being cautious while using your console

I'd wait for scarlett and in the mean tone get a cheap 500gb - 1tb SSD external drive to play your games off of. They will load faster and it will be easy to switch over to the new xbox when it arrives.

Switch off the router for a minute or two and see if it works after that.

When you're loading the dashboard, can you press the home button on your controller and choose to play a game or load an app?

The games seems to load by showing the game symbols but then the console just switches off

I have tried removing the hard drive no change and the xbox has long loading times even when the internet is turned off (Because my router is on a switch)
