    Here recently, The power in my city has been going out quite frequently. It is like, a once a week thing. And when that happens, if my Xbox is on, it will obviously shut off. But when the power comes back on, if I keep it plugged in to the outlet that it was plugged into when the power went out, I cannot get it to turn back on. The light on my power box will not turn back on. Even if I unplug it and plug it back in, it just will not work in that outlet anymore. If I plug it into a different outlet, it’ll turn on just fine. But because this has been happening a lot lately, I have run out of outlets to use. I just can’t figure out how to get it to work. If I unplug the power box from my Xbox, and plug it into a previous outlet I have used, the power box turns on, but it is the orange surge light. And I cannot get it out of surge mode. As soon as I plug it into the Xbox, the light completely shuts off and there is no power to my power box. I know the box is receiving power, otherwise The orange light wouldn’t turn on to begin with. I just don’t understand why it is losing power when I plug it back into the back of my console. Has anybody had any issues like this? Like, not being able to use outlets that you have previously used after a power outage, or not being able to get your power box out of surge mode? I have looked up different discussions in the community and followed a lot of the step-by-step‘s a lot of other people have provided, and none of it is working. Any advice will be helpful. I am sorry for the long question, but I just wanted to make sure you had all the information before responding.

    Okay thank you! And yeah, the weird thing is, after my husband got home yesterday I had him reset the breaker to the bedroom, to see if that would fix the fact that it wouldn’t work in the outlets, but it still does the same thing. I even unplugged my Xbox and plugged it into a bunch of different outlets throughout my house, including outlets in my kids room, and it did the same thing. I originally thought it was doing that because those were the outlets that it was plugged into when the power went out, but now I know that’s not the case. It’s doing it no matter what outlet I plug it into. And as soon as I plug the power brick into the Xbox, the light shuts completely off. I’m thinking I might just buy a new power brick. It might be faster and cheaper. Thank you for responding though, because I had no idea if I was doing something wrong, or what could’ve been going on.

    That the power supply should not exhibit this behavior. I can't say what the problem is, it is necessary for someone with experience in electronics to open the power supply and check what is wrong with the components. It could be some kind of short circuit, faulty capacitors, faulty phases, and so on.

    In my experience, this shouldn't happen. I would take this power supply for repair at a store that repairs electronics in your city.

    It is a little difficult to find a new original power supply as this model and accessories are no longer manufactured. If you can't find a new power supply, save yours and take it to an electronics repair shop in your city.

    What exactly are you saying shouldn’t happen? It being stuck on surge mode? Or it not working in an outlet that it was plugged into when my power went out? I ask specifically because if I do have to get it fixed, I want to know exactly what I need to say to the person fixing it, so they know exactly what to fix.
