Xbox Support: Advanced Warfare Digital Download (Refund)

Okay, so I'm not going to get in to many details here. It's quite obvious what's happening with the digital downloads of Advanced Warfare. I feel somewhat compelled to make a complaint and ask for a partial refund. After pre-downloading advanced warfare
last week it took two hours to install the game fully. Upon it hitting 12.01am UK time the game said "install" and as it was doing so a notification came up saying it was ready to play. However before I could click the middle button it was installing the
whole game once again. What I don't understand is, how come some people who installed the game digitally got to play it straight away? Others hard reset their Xbox and it worked for them, they were able to play. Others had to install the whole 45GB game once
again, one of them being me. I did not pay £54.99 for the day zero addition to more or less play this game on Tuesday. Like me and many others we will miss out on double XP and basically the day zero addition would have been a total waste of money.

At 12.01 the game decided to install itself and I went to sleep. At 4am the install was only at 16% and currently at this moment in time almost 12 hours into installing the game it's at 61%. I understand this is better than what some people have been experiencing
but the fact remains, people who pre installed this game beforehand should NOT have to install it all over again. Xbox/Microsoft were false advertising and funny enough, still state that the game can be played 1 minute after midnight. Like many others who
have been hit by this problem we would like a refund. Not in the form of Microsoft points, not in the form of Xbox live membership, not in the form of an apology but in the form of money. Sooner or later in life everything is going to be going digital, and
this is the experience Xbox are giving to people? Not only did people get the game far to early, not only did the servers go up on Thursday, not only did double XP kick in on Sunday evening around dinner time (when it was supposed to be Monday) us paying customers
have to go through these problems all because Xbox couldn't solve the problem. Everyone who has been effected by this should be compensated in some way. I can't believe that some people who installed it digitally got it to work perfectly fine when the majority
didn't. If it isn't going to work the majority then it shouldn't work for people at all, period.

My thing is like..how do you mess this up. Its like a child messing something up. How many launches has cod had. How do you make non working codes and sell xbox ones with out a working copy of the game with the promise of something else. Idk. Its just
sad.

I used to be an "ambassador" as well. The XBOX one is such a piece of crap I told them to shove their ambassador program, I cant lie to people so MS can sell more POS consoles.

 

Why are you still here if Xbox is so bad? Move on.

 

My digital download works perfect. Started playing at 12:01.

 

You don't have to lie to people as an Ambassador. But anyway, I am picking up my physical copy later today, I hope it installs without a hitch. Good luck everyone!

 

Funny if you ask me..it's a risk going for the download option, no guarantee its going to work. I wouldn't issue a refund to anyone.

 

there should be no risk in downloading a game period, this is not about if disk or digital it's a matter of quality control and then testing the game fully before its released to make sure that these issues don't happen. if it were your money and you paid
for the collectors edition all to find your not getting what you paid for you be singing a different toon. its easy to say i wouldn't issue a refund after all its not your your money unless you have a money tree which most of us don't when we do spend our
hard earn money on a game we want a unbroken one.

 

you wouldn't issue a refund? sure its easy to say but when you spend your hard earn money and get a half... game that does not work i bet you ask for a refund. its simple they DO NOT TEST THE GAMES fully if this was tested time and time again and made sure
there be no issues with the download we would not be here complaining about how horrible the problem has been dealt with. was just talking to customer support their excuse was well the servers are not up, i said well thats false advertisement last i check
everyone was suppose to be playing on the 3rd in which case its a xbox problem because its in the digital store. mind you i have a thread going about this and another game BF4 premium SAME ISSUES. this is getting old, funny if you ask me or treating those
of us who have issues like dirt when we done nothing all we WANT IS ANSWERS.

every thread you check theres one or two trolls who say well im playing the game just fine dont know whats your problem, maybe you did something wrong...ignorance is at a all time high just because some can play and the majority cannot does not mean the
game is ok. the fact that no one from xbox has shown their face around here goes to show the people we are dealing with, once they take your money and theirs an issue they go into hiding and blaming the game company then when you do call the game company they
say its on microsoft's end.

 

I got mine to play but I keep getting multiplayer errors loosing connection to host/server or it says cod server not available at this time(wtf) ive only made it through one match uninterrupted..ive reset everything..still having issues. I also would like
some compensation.

I have the digital download version of AW and on the release i had to start from 1% again, it successfully got to 50 and then installation stopped i went to bed to try it today and ive had it to 25% 4 times but still no joy, ive uninstalled it and cleared
saved game data, not to mention hard reset my console a thousand times. I honestly dont know what to do, if anyone can help me contact me on twitter or xbox please.

 

I for one agree with the OP. Microsoft wants to be the Steam of the consoles so they should have been prepared for this. Microsoft and Activision both knew what the digital download demand for the game would be just by looking at the preorder numbrs. I purchased
the console bundle and I have a nice "brick" which won't download the game. Even on the worst day my Steam downloads are at 6MBs while my Xbox One sits at 56k dial up modem speeds! To say I am disappointed and ANGRY are understatements.

Now that I have "vented" everyone should consider this: what if microsoft had not relented on their proposed DRM system and ALL GAMES HAD TO BE PURCHASED AS DIGITAL DOWNLOADS?

What burns me the most though is that I enjoy playing with my son and he was really looking forward to playing this game today. It has been TWELVE hours and the game still is not installed. I can play local TDM with him on one map, not even close to what
Steam provides in terms of digital downloads. He got tired of one map and is now playing Gary's Mod on Steam.

Microsoft I'm trying to be patient and allow you to fix the problem but as time goes on it's getting harder and harder for this OldGuy to not act like a young kid and boot you from the game because your K/D really is pretty poor on this one. Heck your even
making my poor K/d look good.
