  1. Xbox store vs Microsoft store

Here is a simple question that may be related to never receiving any credit or payback points.

Is the Microsoft store different and/or not linked with the Xbox store on the xbox1 console?

    :)

    Xbox store vs Microsoft store

Yes. The Xbox Store is the digital store on the console and xbox.com. The Microsoft Store is Microsoft's retail store, meaning most of the items are physical purchases and are not all related to Xbox.

  5. Then it makes sense why rewards are never credited to my account.

I make my purchase directly on the console rather then having to go through all the steps it takes to go onto the Microsoft webpage to buy games.

They may want to add that into the fine print that you have to go to the Microsoft store for purchases to be credited rather then just through the console.

That is not very clear anywhere and can upset a lot of people.

Actually most offers are only eligible for purchases made from the Xbox Store (console or xbox.com). Since the program is tied to your account, it recognizes your purchases made either on the console or website. There are only 1 or 2 offers every now and
then from microsoftstore.com (the current Ghost Recon offer is one of them). In order to receive credits, your purchases either have to be eligible for a specific offer on the site at the time, or you need at least 1 star level in order to receive VIP rebates.

    Hello Volks Stuermer,

The "Microsoft Store" is linked to the Xbox Store. For example, your recent purchase of Ghost Recon would be available here (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/tom-clancys-ghost-recon-wildlands-gold-edition/bpbl9b5zmfj0).

However, "MicrosoftStore" is not linked in any way to the Xbox store front, so a purchase from here (https://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Tom-Clancys-Ghost-Recon-Wildlands-for-Xbox-One/...)
would not be eligible for Rewards.

Keep in mind that pre-orders are not eligible for MyVIP payback, as stated in our FAQ:

What content on the Xbox Store is eligible for MyVIP?

Normally, most purchases for Xbox 360 and Xbox One from the Xbox Store qualify, including full Games on Demand titles (excluding game pre-orders), arcade games, indie games, game add-ons, game Season Passes, movies, TV shows, TV seasons, themes and avatar
items. In-game consumables, Xbox Live Gold memberships, Groove Music Passes, Microsoft Movies & TV Season Passes, and the purchase or redemption of Microsoft Points or Xbox Gift Cards, still do not qualify.

So purchases like your Battlefield 1 pre-order in October did not generate payback. Additionally we see multiple Credit and Deposit events on your account, which you can review yourself on the MyStatement on the MyRewards page, sorted by lifetime events.

Can anyone help me with my xbox app not installing/launching games?

Yep the only games that work are EA games like plant vs zombies which dont require the xbox or microsoft store to launch but instead the EA app meaning it's the xbox/microsoft store app's fault.
