Xbox Store - 'Parental Approval required for purchase'

Hello,

Relatively new Xbox user here, with an Xbox One S that I've had for just over two weeks.

Went to purchase a TV series from the Xbox Store this evening but repeatedly got the message that 'parental approval was required for purchase'. This suggested to me that the content was restricted.

I checked my settings and all content was set to unrestricted, whilst the purchasing option was set to 'buy anything'.

My Microsoft Account is not a child account, I set it up in 2011 when I was 17, before the whole parent/child accounts feature was even a thing. I checked the Microsoft website and it was quite clear that my account was classed as an 'adult' one. I am
therefore, totally at a loss, as to why I am unable to purchase 18+ content from the Xbox store.

I would appreciate any help, if possible, on this issue.

Old Parental Approval Question

I am now 19 and want to promote my account to adult,I am sure that the parental account is closed-I closed it.

But I still get Parental Approval Required message whenever I want to redeem a code,update billing information,etc.

How can I get rid of this "Parental Approval Required" thing now?
