    Xbox stays in a sort of "rest-mode" even though it's set to energy saving.


    My Xbox One S has suffered of lots of issues, the last one I found is that it never completely turns off unless I pick the single precise option in the settings menù.

    I know it's an issue because I have it in "energy-saving" mode and it always (nearly always) completely turned off but it's a while now since it started to stay in a sort of "rest-mode" a lot more than before.

    Please don't tell me that I have to completely reset it, because this would be the 6th time already in its entire life.

    It's not even in the Xbox Insider program anymore.

    Hi,

    This is an ongoing issue (even on some of the elder models) and has been acknowledge by Microsoft/Xbox.

    Whilst waiting for a patch, I would recommend that you use Energy-saving mode, as your console's power mode (if currently set to Instant-On).

    Hi, if you have instant on mode set in the power options the fan will indeed keep spinning, try changing to energy saving mode.

    There are some drawbacks with energy saving mode though such as the Xbox will not auto update etc.

    Set your xbox one's power mode to energy saving instead of the default instant on and it will allow the system to fully shut down when you turn off the system instead of staying in a standby based off state. This will let the ram boot up clean and wont
    have this issue. You can reenable instant on mode once you reboot with energy saving mode. But ive found it best to atleast turn off ur xbox with energy saving on atleast once a week to let it do a full startup.

    Xbox One Power Brick Light STAYS WHITE.

    It stays white if you have the console power option set to "instant on". The only way everything turns off is to turn your power option to "energy save" mode.

    Thanks for reaching out to us today! To answer your question, It is normal for the USB port to still work even on energy saving mode. Having your console either on energy saving mode or Instant-on won't affect the functionality of the USB ports on the Xbox.
