Xbox shuts off in Fortnite

This is probably an Epic problem, but when playing Fortnite - specifically when I jump into the wind tunnel @ the Grotto, my Xbox will just shut off.

When turning back on its giving me the "overheating" screen. Oddly enough, my Xbox (Scorpio edition) is well ventilated, no dust etc. This problem only occurs in Fortnite. I don't play many other games, mostly Fortnite and PUBG, but again, this is only happening
in Fortnite when I jump into the wind tunnel at the Grotto.

I'm wondering if frame rate/resolution is maxing out the processor or graphics card or something?? I have a 4k/HDR TV and all settings correct. Never had this problem before. There was a recent Fortnite update when this problem started showing, that could
also be an issue but Im just theorizing at this point.

Very odd that a specific spot in the game would trigger the Xbox to turn off. Frustrating to say the least.

My son is having a similar issue, his is doing this but seems to be random and not at specific points on the game. He got an Xbox one X a couple weeks ago for his birthday, before he used to use my one s without issues and I've had no problems either.
But today his has started crashing, tried all the suggested solutions I've came across but still doing it. All other games play fine it's just fortnite he's not very happy about not being able to play 😞

Well i also have a 1x and have the same problem.

at first i was thinking it was a problem with the xbox however a common them happened and it only turned off when i jump off the zipline then into the wind tunnel.

that triggered me to look online and boom ‘Hey you guys!’ I am in the same situation

Thanks for the reply Daniel. The issue only happens at the wind tunnel at the Grotto, everytime! Two other people also commented on my youtube video and said they have same exact problem, so Im glad to think its not my Xbox going bad, but rather a Fortnite
bug.

I will look into trying to obtain the log files you mention.

Hi there!

Can you tell me where else this issue happens? Does it only happen when you go through the tunnel?

If so, how often does this happen?

In addition, I suggest you send this to Epic Games, through the game itself( do it immediately after the console crashes, but I'm not sure if the game saves some log files and sends them.

Please do this : (from The Fortnite Trello Board)

Open the Menu in the top corner
Select ‘Feedback’
Check the ‘Bug’ option
Fill out the Subject and Body with a brief, detailed summary of the bug
