Xbox set to 8bit yet forces 12bit in game.

I had that one thing in there about changing it to hdmi, but when I do that it wont let it go back to 4k. That bottom link you gave me didnt work. But apparantly it has to do with the color depth, how ever that works out Haha. I had the one xbox x at 12
bit standard, and the other at 8bit standard messing with game streaming, and when I started it up on the TV the 8bit one worked, and the 12 bit didnt. So I changed the other xbox x to 8bit and sure enough the sound works. I will try it on my xbox s see if
that works on 12 bit maybe it's a x thing.

Nope same thing on the xbox s, at 12bit it shuts the sound off but at 8bit it's fine. Let me try 10bit.10 bit works to must be something about 12 bit and either xbox or my TV. My tv is a oled 55 b8.

I believe I can help you with a couple of your questions.

-Does color intensity 30 bits(10bits) per pixel or 36 bits per pixel(12bits) slowdown the FrameRate and response time?

• The impact of using 12bit over 10bit will be minimal. But I would suggest setting it to 10bit, unless your monitor specifically supports 12bit.

-And another IMPORTANT question: How to disable V-sync ????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Disabling the V-sync will give higher FrameRate and Fastest response time POSSIBLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

• V-Sync is game specific. An can be turned off under Display settings for your game is provided its an option (most games allow you to turn it off).

I have a 4k 10bit gaming monitor, got the xbox S. when I set the xbox to 10 it is get black screen quite frequently, off and on. set on 8k is fine but you notice a drop in colour..so I tried setting the xbox on 12 bit. so far, no flicker..the colours are
gorgeous. as a precaution as the monitor is only a few weeks old I'm having it replaced as I don't see how the xbox is out putting 4k 12bit to a 10bit monitor with no issue....as of yet. anyway, try 14bit on xbox and see how that goes.

I've had some interesting experiences. I was first having HDR not pass through, after swapping out a expensive HDMI cable to the XBOX Supplied from the Yamaha to Sony I got HDR. But once I accomplished this, my sound would intermittently cut out. So my feeling
is that it's closely related to HDR issues. I'm going to try reverting my settings back down from 12bit to 10bit and 8bit and report back. I am going to invest in some Monster 1000 cables just to try it out (I work in a retailer, so I have that tool up my
sleeve).
