Xbox serviced or replaced

I have just received my Xbox Series X back after I claimed the warranty. on the back the product ID has changed along with the SN, although the box it was returned in came with a note saying “We put your xbox through rigorous hardware testing”. Is my xbox the one I sent off or a refurbished one?

Your Xbox would have been replaced with a working refurbished one.

Virtually no major electronics company will send you back the unit you sent in. Typically once it's verified, they will grab the next refurbished unit off the pile and send it to you

This is why they tell you to only send the console and nothing else

It is registered. The support site see's my device under my profile. The link you sent is taking me in circles back to the Create a repair order that I am being blocked on. I am not able to get past the Add your address.

If i knew where i could set my address in my profile so I can use that address from the drop down menu, that (in theory) would get me step 2 of the Create a repair order process.

the warranty for the console is not the same as the warranty for the controller.

the console has a year warranty but the controller only has a 3 month.
