    I logged into my Xbox this morning and tried to play a game, but I couldn’t connect. So I went to settings to test the network connection and it said purchasing content is limited. I’m just curious about how the problem affects my game and how long it’s
    going to be before it is fixed?

    Can't sign in to my account.

    Think xbox live is down I'm getting same error. Service status timed at 22:18 says check back in 30 mins for update

    Xbox Live team doesn't give ETA of fixes so best I can say is check here and sign up for alerts for when it's fixed.

    Currently there's a service alert that's affecting the Core services of Xbox Live. You can check on the status of the service alert on the following link.

    It may be best for you to opt to be notified when the service alert has ended.
