    Xbox Series X won’t update games, install games, or start downloads


    I have cleared the cache, turned it off and on again, deleted local save files, checked the network connection, and reset the console while keeping games and apps.

    I setup my Xbox again from the beginning, signed in, and it STILL won’t download anything!

    What else can I do?

    Not really...

    Xbox Series X games / upgrades / updates has to be installed onto the Series X internal or expansion card SSD,

    You can have Xbox One games on your external hard drive that will get an Series X upgrade but the games will need to be transferred to the Series X and then the Series X upgrade will need to be downloaded onto the Series X SSD,

    As an example...

    I have Marvel Avengers on my external hard drive that will get the Series X upgrade and I will transfer the game over to the Series X SSD ready to download and update the game to the Series X version when available.

    I appreciate the reply, but I have already done all these things. It still won’t install. I am using a digital download. I have 4 Xboxes in 4 different rooms and all have COD on them and had no problems until COD had a game update a few weeks ago. Two Xboxes ( both Xbox ones ) have Successfully installed the update and I have been able to play normally., but my new series x and my other Xbox one will not load nor install the game. It’s so frustrating.

    I don't know if these server problems are related to the updates they do for the game.

    I remember not long after I installed the game on my Xbox series x last year it received an update a day or 2 later and I started getting a server error message on my Xbox series x yet on my Xbox one x the game played fine without an error message.
